A-Minor Musik Praise Party

On Friday March 23rd I got to experience praise on a whole new level. A-Minor Musik Group great friends of Gospel Unplugged stuck to what they have been doing since they came out with their projects. Being different and portraying Christian music in a new light and sharing the message of Jesus Christ differently. God has given CEO Andre Johnson an ear, mind, and heart for being different and putting out music that's different but that also makes a difference. The praise party was a branch from the tree.

Hosting this fantastic event was Andre Mullen of FNFLive.com. His exuberance and liveliness was just what the praise party needed, someone who can keep this event going as the praise elevated. To open up the evening we had Shel and Push Play. Their high energy set the night off right and we we're able to move to left in Jesus name! Following Shel, Tre Thomas from Washington D.C. came and gave us some new material from his new album 'Finally'. Up next was TRU Praise they came and took the praise to another level! The did a new song called 'Change' and their hit catchy tune, 'Glad'. They surely had the people on their feet, between the emphatic horn lines and the excitement of lead singer Marcus Pass, you had to get up and join in on the praise!! In between artist sets we had DJ Cale on the 1's and 2's give us music to jam too as the artist were getting ready.

Now it was time for an A-Minor Musik artist to grace us with their presence, Danielle Lewis took the stage! She presented to us a new praise song that she co-wrote with fellow artist Matt T. called 'Shout it Out', this song was truly magnificent and I would not be surprised if it is an anthem sung around the world! Following that great song she led us in an island praise with 'Redeemed', and we surely 'Let the redeemed of the lord say so!' After Danielle, we had the beautiful Denise Powell from Connecticut and she did songs from her "Free To Flow" mixtape.  Her smooth vocals accompanied by smooth chords played by her husband, Doobie Powell, set the stage for the featured artist, Chris Jackson.

Chris also known as C-Jai was doing this Praise Party as a Christian artist for the first time!! He has awesome accolades as a songwriter for Day 26, Toni Braxton, Adam Archueletta, and more whether it be Christian or not. He started off his set with 'Joy' from the A-Minor Musik compilation album that was released in 2010. With the band bumping and the all male background vocal trio dancing, this was setting up to be something amazing! After that he gave his testimony on how his father had heart surgery and how God spared his life and then he went into 'How Great is our God' followed by 'I Need You'. This medley with the testimony was so pure and real that even in the midst of a Praise Party it showed that worship is one of the best ways that we can communicate with God. That medley really blessed me.

After that he went into his most current single 'Rearview Mirror' which can be found at www.aminormusik.com. This song had so much energy as Chris can that you have no choice to say goodbye to everything in our past. The set was closed out with a song called 'All The Maybes In The World'. This song is so dope! It explains that whatever God wants us to do, nothing can stop us, and I believe that this song summed up a great night and a great performance by Chris Jackson. Here is a video from Chris' performance:

Danielle Lewis - Surrender

Hello my darlings!

So, if you follow us on twitter and/or facebook then you should know by now that TODAY DANIELLE LEWIS' NEW SINGLE OFF OF HER UPCOMING WORSHIP EP DROPS FOR FREE!!!!

Ok, enough shouting, lol.

When I first heard that Danielle Lewis was dropping a single, I got SO excited. As a person, I admire this young woman of God SOOOO much; she is truly inspirational and she has SUCH a big heart (I LOVE YOU DANNI!). As an artist, she is creative and her voice is O-MAZING! So, knowing these things, I knew that whatever she released was going to be great, especially since it's coming off of her worship EP (she's a serious worshipper too!). After I really sat down and listened to the song, I realize, it EXCEEDED my expectations!

I think one of the most important parts of any song are the lyrics and the lyrics to this song are SO powerful and relatable. Then I remembered that Matthew Thomas (most commonly known as Matt T.) co-wrote the song! (If you've never heard of his ministry, then I'm going to shamelessly plug it in now (and not only because I sing back-up for him lol) - check out his facebook page when you get the chance - www.facebook.com/PsalmistKing). The words are something that just about anyone can relate to if their hearts cry is to totally surrender to Christ.

Overall, it is a very powerful, well-written, intriguing, heart song that you ALL should listen to if you haven't already.

To download the single for FREE, go to Danielle Lewis' website! Enjoy!! :) http://www.purelydanielle.com/

An Explosive Night, the A-Minor Musik Youth Explosion

On March 13th A-Minor Musik and Promise House of Mount Moriah AME Church came together and had a Youth Explosion that was definitely explosive. From Praise & Worship ministered by Danielle Lewis who gave a very urban feel to 'Lord I Lift Your Name on High', and then 'Lord You're Mighty' made popular by Youthful Praise. This set in motion the greatness that would come for the rest of the night. Be sure to support Danielle and get a copy of her album 'Amazing' (Danielle Lewis- Amazing).

First group up was Broken ChainZ, they are  a group of musician's who love God and who's purpose is to spread the message of Freedom through repentance and redemption by the blood of Jesus Christ. They first ministered their lead single 'Freedom Cry' which is available on iTunes, (Freedom Cry). The authority in which the drums, synthesizers, bass, and guitars possesed show the freedom that they sang about. At the end of the song they went into the chorus of well known hymn 'Lamb of God' that punctuated the message of their song and the purpose of their ministry. They also did 'Cross Anthem' that will be on their project that's coming in the near future. Be on the lookout for great things coming from them.

Next we had BLESSED. He came with his Christian Rap us giving us a powerful and captivating performance that left us empowered as we chanted 'You've got to go' letting the devil know that all that he is trying to do is not allowed and he's got to go.

After chanting like that we had Doobie Powell up! Coming from Connecticut he came and gave us some great singing and great playing as he sat behind the keys. Due to car trouble his band was unable to play with him, but he had two of New York's greatest musicians in Carlin White and Dwayne "DW" Wright accompany him. View the videos to see what I'm talking about.

After Doobie we had Jules Bartholomew & Judacamp. They sang three songs, two of which are from their current album, 180 Degrees that's currently available on iTunes. They not only sang but ministered 'No Record' and 'Change Me Now'. They way in which Jules led the song the people really were really able to relate and just worship. After that they did their leading single 'Dance' and we sure we're dancing in the pews and aisles at Mount Moriah AME Church.

Up next we had the group/ministry we we're their to see and support, A-Minor Musik Group. Led by musician/producer Andre 'A-Minor' Johnson they did the lead singles from the album The A-Minor Project. First up was Linny Smith Jr. who sang 'Exalt Your Name.' His vocal ability with the infectious music made it one great reason for people to clap and get up out of their seats as we understood why God is so good!

After we exalted His name, we went into letting God 'It's Me' sang beautifully by Naomi Soloman. This song is amazing because it shows that we have to be humble ourselves and tell God we are in the need. No matter what we do what we go through, once we tell God 'It's Me' he's always there, even when we dont deserve it.

Last but not least we had Cjai sing 'Joy.' This song is a real head banger, it portrays why we have so much joy! Accompanying Cjai was the Abun-Dance ministry from Mount Moriah AME Church. He did an amazing job in leading us in the song and teaching us how to 'dougie' as the band jammed away! It was a great way to end the night, a night that was awesome, wonderful, great, and very EXPLOSIVE!!!

Special thank you to Andre 'A-Minor' Johnson for allowing us to be apart and cover this event. We most certainly had a great time and enjoyed ourselves.
