The Jersey Blazer [Gents]

I like the Jersey Blazer because it’s a great causal blazer and perfect for transitioning between seasons [Spring-Summer and Summer-Fall]. It is also a nice way to dress up your regular jeans and shirt look that everybody falls back to as a safety net. A well made and fitted jersey blazer has the silhouette of a blazer and the comfort of a sweater. The contrast of casual fabric and formal construction makes this piece both versatile and boundary pushing. This is also a great time to buy it because most retailer are trying to make space for the summer collection. Here are few options for you.

Fashion Star Winner Kara Larick [HM Collection]

NBC kicks off the new year with the new reality competition series "Fashion Star," which will search for the next big brand in fashion. The series featured 14 unknown designers and gave them a chance to win a multi-million dollar prize to launch their collections in three of America's largest retailers: Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.

In the end, one designer Kara Larick successfully combined fashion and business to become the Fashion Star and received the prize of a lifetime $6,000,000 million (yeah that’s a lot of zeros) in orders for capsule collections in Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue stores. Here are few items from H&M Collection:

Count It All Joy

"...count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." James 1:2-3

Yesterday while on the train sitting right by the train door, a young man grabbed my iPhone from my ear and ran with it - I was in COMPLETE shock! After the initial shock, I ended up going home and going to the police station to file a report.  After which, I went to ANOTHER police precinct to view photos of young men who matched my description to see if I could recognize the one who I was in contact with.

I could say a lot about this incident, but what stands out the most is the fact that God protected me.  Yes, it sucks that I don't have my phone anymore - but that's material, and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. While on my way home, I kept hearing "count it all joy Celeste, count it all joy" and I realized that the Lord was using this scripture to comfort me - and it worked!

My focus immediately shifted and I realized more and more that the highlight of this event is that I was not physically hurt.  One of the police officers said that they've seen plenty of people who've come in messed up because of this same incident! So, all in all, I've learned a lesson about keeping my phone hidden while on the train.  Most importantly, ladies - do NOT sit at the edge seats on the train, you become an easier target for thieves.

And at the end of the day, I've used this incident to teach me that even in the midst of a "bad"situation, God is able to bring out the good! And I know for a fact that, I've grown in faith and patience because of it.

HE IS STILL GOOD =)

Love you all!!
